Bernina 4/5-series Knob and Bobbin Winder Guards (24 Color Choices!)

These guards provide peace-of-mind when transporting your Bernina series 4 or 5 machine by helping to ensure that the knobs and bobbin winder don't get bumped and broken. The cover Image shows turquoise guards on a B480, but these guards fit current Bernina 4xx or 5xx machine and are available in a wide variety of colors. It may not be compatible with some older 4xx-5xx models that use the silver bobbins, such as the 580.

The knob guard is custom designed to protect the two front multifunction knobs on Bernina machines (sewing machine not included) while inserting or removing the machine from its case/cover and during transport. The knobs on the 4 series and 5 series machines are different than the knobs on the 7, 8 and 9 series machines so this unit will not fit those machines. My shop has versions for other Bernina models.

The knob guard is available with a "Starry 3D" effect on its flat front surface which looks great and gives the effect of twinkling stars as the light hits it at different angles. The bobbin winder guard is not available with the Starry 3D effect.

The bobbin winder protector will fit 400, 500, 700, and 900 series machines that use the large black bobbins. It protects the bobbin winder and also keeps the switch from accidently being pushed into bobbin-winding mode. AND it provides a handy place to store the little Torx screwdriver used to replace the needle! (screwdriver not included) This should work on any machine that uses the larger black bobbins. If your machine uses the silver metal bobbins, this model is probably not compatible with your machine. Get a set of both the knob protector and bobbin winder protector to preserve your investment in your Bernina machine (although they are also available as individual units).

All of the parts in my shop are designed by me using CAD software and made to order in wide variety of colors using my own 3D printer. 3D printed parts may have lines or other visible surface features which are not defects, but are a normal part of the 3D printing process. Note that while these guards are designed to protect the knobs and bobbin winder, it is impossible to provide a guarantee that the knobs or bobbin winder won't be damaged in enough force is applied; thus, no warranty against damage to the machine when using these guards is provided.
